Description

The Design intern assists in the organization's online presence, including website, MySpace profile, web banners and promotional materials. He/She will assist in the design and development of marketing campaigns and will work with the VP of Communications and IT Team to ensure consistency in the brand for all web-based and printed materials.

This organization is America's largest anti-sexual assault organization. They operate the National Sexual Assault Hotlines, which has helped more than one million people since 1994.

In addition to the hotlines, this Non Profit operates education and outreach programs to prevent sexual assault, encourage victims to report their attack to police and make victims aware of available services. They work extensively with the media and with the entertainment industry to provide vital information about sexual assault to the public.

Duties:
* Assist in management of online presence, including web site and social networking profiles (MySpace, Facebook, ThinkMTV, & Revolution Health)
* creation/design/preparation of site graphics (banners, buttons, headings, logos, and images)
* creation/design of banner ads for use by third parties
* posting and formatting new content
* Creation/design/development of email newsletters and announcements
* Creation/design of RAINN print documents (newsletter, brochures, handouts)
* Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

* You must be at least 19 years old.
* Placement should be in your field of study and you must have relevant course work/work experience in the field.
* You must be a US, Canadian or Australian citizen or already be in the US on a work/study visa.
* Proficiency in HTML and CSS; Dream-weaver
* Proficiency in Photoshop & or Quark & ImageReady; InDesign, Illustrator, & Flash experience a plus.
* Knowledge in: web usability, navigation, and accessibility concepts; user interface design; information architecture; web design, color, and typology principles
* Knowledge of content management systems.
