Description

Help save endangered Australian heritage lands! Intern with an independent not-for-profit research organization that supports the conservation of the natural and cultural heritage of the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area, surrounding Sydney. The Institute engages across a range of inter-disciplinary research and related activities including:

* Integrated Catchment Management
* Urban, Industrial and Rural Sustainability
* Ecosystem Resilience
* Visitor Management
* Culture and Heritage

Tasks Include:
* Undertaking research reviews on particular topics (e.g. fire management and climate change impacts; wildlife research; introduced species impacts and interactions).
* Working in collaboration with government agencies responsible for natural resource management in the region.
* Organizing seminars and public forums.
* Qualitative research using community cultural development processes, based on artistic and creative expression of values within the Blue Mountains Aboriginal communities through artistic workshops focusing on local environmental issues.
* Work with project preparation and delivery focusing on learning the values of our natural and cultural landscapes by incorporating various dimensions of education, art, interpretive walks and field trips.
