Job Description:
* Liaise with the sales and Marketing Staff to understand customer requirements & specifications to produce concept designs, producing materials or components lists, prepare detail drawings, to promote the Marine Systems products and services & to provide support to Sales team.
* Managing the design process in accordance with procedures and standards relevant to the design.
* Provide engineering support for projects as required to ensure the project meets both the clients requirements and is in accordance with recognized design standards.
* Design & Development of engineered solutions to meet the customer & industry specific needs.
* Provision of sound technical advice on Marine Systems products to internal and external customers.
* Keep informed of product and market developments & trends.
* Ensure the safe, timely and efficient design, and manufacture, supply &/or delivery of products to meet customer requirements.
* Ensure projects/orders meet both company and customer requirements in terms of Qty & Quality and details are effectively communicated to all stakeholders.
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and profitable completion of projects/orders to meet contractual requirements
* Report key issues applicable to the Marine Systems business to the Managing Director.
* Maintain relationships and negotiate with external suppliers on technical aspects to ensure material ordered is in compliance to requirement.
* Obtain, compile and prepare and present complete quality certification from suppliers as specified by project specs and in accordance with TMS guidelines to customers.
* Seek continual self improvement & represent the company in a professional manner
* Assist and keep other business units of Trelleborg informed of prospective opportunities that may be relevant to them.
Salary: Stipend within first 3 months with further job employment.
Skills Required:
- Capable of producing steel fabrication details and installation drawings using Solid works
- Strong planning & effective implementation skills.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to communicate with staff at all organizational levels
- Strong lateral thinking, problem solving and advanced analytical thinking skills.
- Ability to priorities tasks and resolves conflicts.
- Ability to handle a complex work environment and multitask
- Knowledge of the application of technical principles and techniques in design and production.
- Computer skills including proficiency Excel, Word, Solid works, Shape
Language Requirements:
