Job Description: Direct Client Requirement:

Business Analyst support of VA financial processes and operations by analysis and evaluation of business/accounting processes and automated financial system operations with subsequent definition, design, and implementations of modifications, enhancements, and upgrades to the Financial Management System. Perform ad hoc analysis of business processes, complex financial data, issue and problems to support fiscal operations to include information requests requiring data extractions from financial system. Request for data extractions are reviewed, analyzed and accurately documented and provided by required due dates. Analyze and research accounting and financial system issues to identify and evaluate innovative solutions to business needs. Determine impact on current fiscal processes, relevant policies and procedures, regulatory requirements, internal controls and automated systems. Accurately interprets documented data within the due dates established by manager. Present resolutions to management along with recommendations. Work closely with users of the General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Time Entry, Accounts Receivable and/or Project Accounting functional areas of to research, analyze, understand and document division accounting functionality. Utilize appropriate problem solving methods to improve processes and system functionality within the due dates established by manager. Manage system modification/enhancement process by communication with IT Division through prioritizing system requests, translating business/financial requirements into systems requirements, developing comprehensive test plans, testing modifications, implementing solutions after acceptable testing, monitoring and trouble shooting implemented solutions. Requests for modifications/enhancements are communicated accurately and are monitored to ensure completion by required due dates.

Qualifications

SQL - primarily
* Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
* Strong Knowledge of the System Development Life Cycle
* System Analysis, development, testing and documentation
* Ability to communicate effectively with diverse population
* Knowledge of database systems and on-line processing
* Strong knowledge of Accounting and Financial functions

Language Requirements:
* English should be very good
