  • Description

    Get paid to interview Chilean college students headed to the U.S. on their knowledge of life in the U.S., as well as for their English language abilities before coming to the U.S. to begin their summer work and travel jobs. These Chilean students are traveling on a J-1 Work and Travel visa as well as high school exchange program students! Positions are available in Santiago and Concepción.

    We need an intern in each office in Santiago and Concepción for six months. You may apply for 3 months and we will look for a replacement for the additional 3 months.

    This is a great program for people who want to experience life in Chile and the Chilean culture in-depth. Discover first-hand what it is like to live and work in Chile!

    Each office will rent an apartment for the intern and the office will pay the rent, which will be your payment for the internship. You will be responsible for your food and living expenses.

    Placement requires a Skype interview with the office manager in each office in Chile.

    Paid Internship Duties and Responsibilities Include:
    - Work in the office in Santiago and Concepción helping office staff with their - - English and performing clerical duties.
    - Contact university representatives provided to set up a meeting or speech to students.
    - Contact students and offer them assistance (this can be done in English).
    - Conduct verbal English tests for each student.
    - Provide assistance to students when needed.
    - Assist staff with interview forms.
    - Travel if needed to interview Chilean college students who are coming to the U.S. on the J-1 Visa Work and Travel program. Interviews are for language ability and suitability of the program. Interns have, in the past, traveled to Talca, Rancagua and Vina del Mar. Be advised that no additional travel is promised. It all depends on enrollments.
    - Manage your own personal expenses (telephone bills, clothing, entertainment and spending money.)
    - Be available to work some evenings and weekends.

  • Highlights

    Market to, and then interview Chilean college students who are coming to the U.S. on a J-1 Work and Travel visa. The Work and Travel program in the U.S. allows college students from other countries to travel to the U.S., work legally during their summer break, and then travel for a month before returning to their home country.

    The students need to be interviewed about what it is like to live and work in the U.S. and also for their English language ability and skills.

    Placement costs includes airport transfer, room and extensive medical, dental and evacuation insurance. Also includes baggage loss insurance and travel delay insurance.

  • Salary/Pay

    Paid Internship (Payment is in the form of each office paying your rent.). Legally work in Chile. If you are asked to travel in Chile as part of your job, your travel expenses are paid. Tip the advantage to you by enhancing your resume with this paid Internship. This paid Internship is available only to native English speakers from the U.S. You need to have a minimum of two-years of college, be in good health and be able to travel. The ideal candidate is 23-29 years of age. Placements are available from the end of May, 2011 to the end of December, 2011. Please check with GeoVisions about availability. Minimum of 3 months, maximum of 6 months.
