Experience hands on, up close interaction with lions during this complete volunteer project in beautiful South Africa. Work with the antelope, giraffe, zebra, and more than 130 different bird species in this unspoiled "bushveld". With over 600 acres of land, this project provides the opportunity to see and experience lions in this quiet area. You can even hear the lions roar at night!
From the first day at the project, volunteers will help with the day to day care of the lions and help run a large game farm and education center. Participants have the opportunity to be involved with unique activities that can take place with the animals during their stay at the project.
This project hosts a long term lion research project. It is used as an environmental education center which allows school children to visit and learn firsthand about conservation and preservation of wildlife.
Volunteer activities may include:
* Caring for Lion cubs, making bottles and feeding baby cubs every 3 hours.
* Cutting up meat and feeding adult lions, medicating and monitoring the treatment of sick lions
* Assisting with educational activities
* Help with the maintenance of lion enclosures and upkeep of facilities
* Participate in the daily functions of the running of the game farm and environmental center.
