  • Description

The purpose of Conservation Photography is not only to get great shots of pristine nature; photographs can also demonstrate the degradation of the natural environment in a compelling way that educates the viewer about a particular habitat or species. Such photos can then be used to garner support for needed conservation measures. This program will introduce you to the natural history of Costa Rica where you will learn the techniques to capture extraordinary photographs of the natural environment. A combination of classroom lectures and guidance in the field from a Costa Rican naturalist and photographer will give students the unique opportunity to learn the methods for taking photographs in a variety of habitats. No prior photography experience is required and all types of cameras can be used on this trip. All of the photos on the program web page were taken by students who participated in last year's program.
