    At last, the mystery of the Mayan calendar revealed! The Ancient Maya created an astonishingly accurate calendar that had not just a beginning date but also an end date. This has caused much speculation regarding the meaning of such date. Why did the Maya have an end to this calendar? What did they foresee happening? What do the Maya of today believe will happen and how are they preparing for the end of this Great Cycle?

    This Course is a celebration of the ancient and modern Maya and their highly developed system to understand the complexities of time. Come and discuss the fate of our world, the intriguing history of the Maya, their concept of time and writing from world renowned Maya scholars. These Mayanist have spent years toiling in this realm-teasing our their secrets.

    This is a once in a life-time opportunity to experience the World of the Maya on the eve of 13.0.0.0.0- the end of the Maya Great Cycle. The venue for most of the course will be withing the ancient and modern Maya communities of beautiful Belize where we will address the life and history of Maya communities through discussions with a traditional Maya healer, traditional artisans and archaeologists to best understand the Maya prophecy of 2012.

    Tuition for three (3) credit hours, orientation, field fees, housing, ground transportation to and from the airport on group arrival and departure days, transportation to and from field and campus. Accommodation is based on double occupancy. It also includes breakfast from Monday to Friday.
