  • Description

    This program promotes junior high school education for the rural areas. It includes education in animal husbandry, poultry raising, basic health, all within a sustainable framework. The program has a high school component which will be implemented after the students complete junior high.

    The program eventually aims to promote sustainable development within a regional area by developing the area human resources capable of determining their own definition of development and having the training to successfully implement their vision.

    En este puesto voluntario, el Promotor de Programa promueve el programa S.A.T. en diez comunidades rurales cerca a la ciudad de Mexicali, Baja California, México. También establecerá contactos con otras ONGs igual que agencias del municipio de Mexicali, el estado de Baja California y el gobierno federal.

    Se sugiere tener una licencia para manejar y un carro si es posible.

    El inglés no es requisito aunque sí ayuda.

    La fundación puede proveer hospedaje y a veces ayudar con gastos de comida.

    Se pide disponibilidad para mínimo seis meses.

  • Program Fees Include:

    The USD 80 is about what the volunteer will probably spend on a monthly basis and we feel would probably cover the volunteer's food and other personal expenses.

  • Salary/Pay

    Volunteers benefit by learning more about rural, border Mexico; polish their Spanish and serve a population which has determined that it wishes to take the reins of its own development into its own hands. No stipends. This is a volunteer position.

    Promotion of education is northwestern Mexico through educational initiatives such as the world famous S.A.T. program developed by FUNDAEC in Cali, Colombia; children's classes which stress moral values such as unity in diversity, the oneness of humankind, justice love, courtesy and others and health education through post-B.A. programs for doctors and health personnel.
