* What Will I Be Doing?
The world's climate is changing very fast and as a consequence the flora and fauna in our world is being seriously threatened and destroyed with potentially massive effects. Therefore raising awareness of the importance of nature is urgent and necessary. By working in Xuan Thuy National park you will have the chance to see nature's enormous diversity and the chance to protect it.
Xuan Thuy National Marine Park is 150 km southeast of Hanoi. The core zone of the park has a total area of 7,100 hectares. The park is considered to be a typical wetland ecosystem of national and international importance. In addition to its high biodiversity, Xuan Thuy National Park is also known as an important platform for migratory birds including the Black-faced Spoonbill, one of the worlds endangered species, other important marine species and mangrove ecosystems.
The work at the park depends on the weather, seasons and characters of nature so volunteers should be flexible on working hours as well as the starting or finishing working time. As a volunteer, you will take part in different projects of the park with the staff: you may help to clean the river banks, plant trees, harvest rice, make honey or build garbage storages in the national park with the local community.
Besides working with the staff, volunteers are also welcome to participate in social projects working with local people. You can share your knowledge with the locals by explaining or organising meetings. You may organise workshops or campaigns to raise awareness about environmental protection and the ecological systems for the local people and update the website of the national park. Together with the local community members you can try to find solutions designed to improve the protection of their ecosystem.
Furthermore, you can also organise English classes for the young people in the village to encourage them to communicate in English. Helping the local people to improve their English is very important as the park is a popular tourist destination and being able to communicate with visitors offers economic opportunities and financial security for the local population.

To create solutions that are apolitical, forward-thinking, community-driven, and innovative and which take into consideration the long-term needs of low income communities.
