Frontier is proud to announce a new teaching program set in a quaint and picturesque village in the heart of the intensely biodiverse Kilombero Valley, you will embark on an adventure and challenge of a lifetime as you share you knowledge and experiences with these bright and energetic students.
* What Will I Be Doing?
Whilst on the placement, you will have the opportunity to teach and help out with a variety of subjects to a range of pupils at different ages and levels. The amount of time you spend teaching each subject will vary depending on the teaching staff and the requirements set at the beginning of your placement. School hours usually start at 8:00am with school finishing around 3:00pm. You will then have the opportunity to run tutor classes, or help out in a range of different ways at the school, also putting on extracurricular activities.
Seeing as there is a huge demand on the staff at the school, you will be required to help out as much as possible, giving you ample opportunity to learn new skills and develop yourself. The Frontier Tanzania Wildlife Conservation Project also operates from the same camp and will be keen to get you involved in environmental education days and teaching these enthusiastic students about the merits of conservation in their area. If you're fretting that you won't have time to put your feet up... Worry not! This area is famous for its shady Mango Trees, just the place to rest your weary head in the evening sunshine!
