Sri Lanka: Colombo Central
Discover Sri Lanka, a glittering jewel of an island nestled in the aquamarine waters of the Indian Ocean. Fringing the coasts are an array of gently arcing golden-sand beaches and vibrant colourful communities, making Sri Lanka is a country of exquisite cultures, landscapes and cuisines with a fascinating history that reflects this.
What will I be doing?
You will be given an interesting and varied timetable of activities including early morning yoga meditation sessions and afternoons scattered with temple visits, language classes and a weird and wonderful array of cultural activities including local dancing and fire walking. Some days could be spent strolling through tea plantations and rice paddies, visiting the local elephant orphanage or taking rustic train journeys through sweeping landscapes, and when it all gets too much there will be plenty of time for sampling the delights of Sri Lanka's picturesque beaches and the odd jaunt into town for a leisurely shop. Your trip could include an unforgettable river safari or time on a local sea turtle conservation project, before culminating in a tour of the famous mask making factory which should prove a suitable present for loved ones back home.
