Experience the "warm heart of Africa" when you visit Malawi, a country of benevolent, friendly people, vast expanses of sun-drenched wildlife reserves and Rift Valley lakes and plains, including the eponymous Lake Malawi, with its abundance of tiny tropical fish and silky sanded beaches stretching as far as the eye can see. Integrate yourself into the community that you work with and inspire the minds of the children whilst acquiring a wealth of teaching experience and new skills. Swim with a myriad of glittering cichlids in the sublime waters of the lake, and then bask in the serene heat of the setting sun as you watch local fishermen cast their nets in the tranquil shallows.

Malawi's undeniable natural beauty belies the harsh reality of the daily struggle of many of its impoverished inhabitants. Children growing up in these economically impaired communities suffer from alienation and a lack of self worth. Without any positive direction, they will remain trapped in a cycle of poverty without any hope of escape. All they need is someone to invest time and commitment to building their self-belief and confidence, and football coaching is an extremely effective means of achieving this. This project is the ideal opportunity to visit this sultry African destination whilst contributing to the futures of those who are truly disadvantaged.

* What Will I Be Doing?

Your activity programme will usually run five days a week, mornings and afternoons, with evenings free to enjoy as you wish, and will include a wide variety of fun activities. It will be focused around working with primary and secondary school aged children who you will be with throughout the programme. You will be so much more than a teacher to them, as their mentor and friend you will lead them on a football training schedule designed to be enjoyable and educational. Whilst working on this project, you are encouraged to be creative and bring your own unique skills and personality to enliven and enrich the experience of the kids in your care. Key elements of the training schedule will include:

* Training matches and league matches
* Ball control and tactical play
* Team strategy and team selection
