Experience a true Ghanaian welcome from the children of Ghana, surrounded by the natural beauty of this wonderful country, and truly integrate yourself into a friendly and hospitable culture. Teach underprivileged children and give them the opportunity to make something of their lives. In your spare time you could swim in waterfalls, spot elephants, baboons, crocodiles, and antelope on the African plains, or dance and socialise to the Ghanaian beats.
* What Will I Be Doing?
Your work schedule will cover a comprehensive, varied and enjoyable teaching programme in a small local community school, enabling you to engage fully with your pupils and awaken your creativity and initiative. You will benefit in terms of your personal and professional experience and will be encouraged to formulate ideas and develop your teaching skills and techniques. Working with local teachers and on your own you will be directly involved with marking pupils' work, preparing homework and assembling innovative and effective lesson plans. As well as this you could also get involved with a range of extracurricular activities depending on your personal skills and interests, whether it be helping to direct a school play, organising a choir, or helping select a sports team, just use your initiative and get the kids involved.
