The Portuguese language enjoys a lively and varied lexicon throughout the world today. Fast Forward is unique in its intimate approach to acquiring language through total cultural immersion. We believe it imperative to mix our institute's academic setting with that of each individual city reality.

Fast Forward currently offers language institutions in Porto, Portugal, Sao Paulo, Brazil and Maceio, Brazil . Each of these cities offers a unique experience in the modern life of the Portuguese language and the people who natively speak it.

Language lessons at Fast Forward focus on communication; beyond grammar books and written exercises, our professors include a variety of oral and listening elements with up-to-date technology to stimulate a comprehensive concept of the Portuguese language. Students are encouraged to interact with their classmates, their professors and the entire staff here at Fast Forward. Our professors also dedicate their creativity and time to the organization of various activities during the students' free hours, and weekend days. Enthusiastic and experienced host families also contribute greatly to students' lives and well-being.

We work hard to create an intimate atmosphere both during and after class time that welcomes, inspires, challenges and responds to each individual student. Since our Brazilian beginnings, we have taught many students and executives from all over the world. Judging by what they tell us and the exam results they achieve, our students find studying with a us a truly satisfying experience.

Internships and Volunteer Work:
In addition to the regular language programs, Fast Forward also provides students with the opportunity to complement their language studies with Volunteer & Internship programs. This allows for a more extensive exposure to culture and language in Brazil. Placement for either volunteer work or an internship ultimately depend on the student's interests and the availability of suitable options during their stay. Some paid internships are also available.

Highlights

Beyond the language courses offered at the school, and whichever internship or volunteer position students are involved in, Fast Forward offers many extras: The school plans several weekly activities, including anything from soccer games, to cinema outings, to local food tasting, to dance/capoeira/etc. classes. Weekends, the school will also always plan one large program. This can be anything from day excursions to nearby beaches, larger music shows, extended weekend trips to other cities, festivals, etc. All are optional, yet most everyone chooses to participate for the vast amounts of fun to be had. Also, most of our students come with ideas and interests of how they would like to experience something in Brazil. We are most often able to find a way and make these things happen. (Be it a trip to a sugar production factory, helping out in local social work organizations, or shopping for a certain item, etc.)

For German employees from the states of Berlin, Brandenburg, Hamburg, Hessen, Niedersachsen, Rheinland-Pfalz and Schleswig-Holstein Fast Forward is offering Bildungsurlaub courses.

Our Internship and Volunteer positions are created with the desires of the student in mind. Thus we require good contact to establish a good internship or volunteer position. The sole requirement is the ability to speak Portuguese. In the case that the student does not speak Portuguese, we work something out with language classes prior to and during the internship or volunteer position.

Our mission is to provide quality Portuguese language programs in a professional and friendly environment and to create an effective and enjoyable learning experience for all of our students. We greatly believe in the enrichment of this experience and cultural immersion is part of every program we offer. Since 1991, Fast Forward has been devoted to providing high quality and personalized instruction in Portuguese for foreigners. At Fast Forward we are committed to excellence. All of our teachers are professional and experienced native instructors, university graduated and trained in Fast Forward's direct approach to language teaching. Our instructors are from various parts of Brazil, allowing for exposure to different accents, expressions and styles of teaching.
