  • Description

    FAPEFE is a Non-Profit organisation, non-religious and non-political. Ecole Noula is looking for a positive, hard-working individual with a passion for education and an understanding of organizational management to serve as our Head Administrator. While this is a volunteer only position, you will gain experience in development, education, management, and finance. The first trimester will be spent mostly registering students, agreeing upon financial plans with families, maintaining up-to-date electronic documentation, hiring teachers, and managing the 22 person staff.

    General duties include: student discipline, running parent and teacher meetings, running weekly staff meetings, serving as mediator to parent needs and concerns, accounting oversight, payroll, organization of school records and due dates for the Department of Education, creative ideas on how to improve the education in the classroom.

  • Qualifications

    Preferred Qualifications:

    - Bachelor of Arts (or equivalent) or higher
    - Demonstrated knowledge of Africa and the developing world
    - Demonstrated interest in education; whether through prior experience teaching, tutoring, academia, etc.
    - Experience working in non-profits
    - Experience managing, supervising, or running a project, organization, and/or business
    - Experience fundraising/grant writing and interest in pursuing additional funding means for the school
    - Knowledge of accounting
    - Knowledge of Microsoft Access
    - Comfortable with bilingual public speaking
    - Ability to function well in a highly ambiguous work setting
    - Commitment to 6 months to a year minimum

    Absolute Requirement: Speaks French comfortably. Will determine appropriate level upon initial phone contact.
