Description

Fantails Bed & Breakfast was once a private residence built in the early 1900s. It has developed into a unique tranquil source of accommodation among native trees and an established fruit and vegetable garden. The garden is a major part of the Fantails experience due to it being recognized as organic and sustainable. In addition, the trees are home to variety of native birds. This is how Fantails got its name, for Fantail birds are constant visitors.

The complex was the winner of the 2009 Local Business Sustainability Award and finalist of the Branding and Image-Building Category. The main house offers a bed and breakfast service for three elegant rooms. There is also a guest lounge with a log fire, sky television, comfortable chairs and a small library of books and compact discs. The self-contained cottages are warm and private, set among the two acres of garden.

Some of the special features of Fantails are the massage spa and infrared sauna facility and the gift gallery that offers a wide selection of New Zealand goods. There is also a boutique café/function room available. Guests are able to park inside the complex close to their accommodation which provides additional security.
