I had a wonderful experience at Extra Class. The teachers are excellent, the pedagogy is original, and class was always lighthearted and fun in addition to useful. The staff is extremely willing to help, accommodate, and do anything necessary to make your Russian experience even better. I learned a tremendous amount during my long stay and made great progress in this notoriously difficult language (which at Extra Class was made easier than ever before.) I thoroughly recommend this program.

Extra Class offers excellent Russian language training. Thanks to extra Class I am able to read, write and communicate in Russian with very little problems. I have participated in four other language programs in St. Petersburg and this one is by far the best one and I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone (from the serious student or adventurers). My language instructor Stanislav Chernishov is a fantastic teacher of Russian language--serious, personable, friendly and helpful. The staff at Extra Class and the program itself is very organized and efficient. If you are searching for a Russian language program in Russia, chosse Extra Class, you will not be disappointed!

Extra Class provided excellence in teaching and friendly helping with anything required. The classes were reasonable small, so I learned a lot in a short time. I had some individual lessons that I suggest you as a "must have"!!! My teacher Stanislav Chernishov has a unique way of explaining things in easy and memorizable form. Better than any teacher I had before. I'm a busineesman and did learn russian since 5 years. I started in the evening school in Germany. After this I studied it in my holidays at universities in Moscow and St. Petersburg 1 month each. In Moscow the university tought with the book "Poehali" from Stanislav Chernishov, so I then contacted him and did have a course at his school. Not only is his book excellent, but his methods are the best I experienced from all teachers I had. My recommendation after all the experience is EXTRACLASS.

Starting business with Russia I have deciced to learn Russian and have been advised to attend ExtraClass school in SPB. I was far from imagining the great pleasure it would be ! my first surprise was to find a very friendly environment with a great teacher and person Stas (Stanilav Chernyshov) ! Stas is a very unique kind of teacher who can guess your precise concern before enven you finish your question ! I have learnt over six languages in similar schools but never had experienced such a pleasant and fruitful short stay. Stas combines art, experience and intelligeance to make the Russian grammar very easy to understand. I recommend everyone willing to learn Russian to hurry up without further hesitation to attend Extra-Class. after one week of begginer course I have started to text my Russian friends in Russian ! the miracle finally happened :)

ABOUT EXTRA CLASS In all it was an extraordinary experience that I will never forget. I came to Extra Class for language, the learning of Russian. As I left, I had gone through an immensely rich stay: full of learning, equally dense of feeling! THE SCHOOL Located in a most central area of historic Saint Petersburg, it is a truly professional place, an agreeable and courteous environment, leading to effective learning. THE COURSE My teacher Katya, who for three weeks gave me four hours of individual instruction, could not have been better, more knowledgeable, more professional or more patient! She gave me a solid basis of the so complex Russian grammar. This has now served me in amplifying my grasp of what is a truly magnificent language, and progressing on my own. THE ENVIRONMENT At Extra Class one's learning is not confined to language. Once there, and in particular because of STANNISLAV CHERNYSHOV's knowledge, dedication, and love for the culture , linguistics, the traditions, and the analysis of the political history of your country, I was able to live, to feel some of the most extraordinary moments of my life. I left Russia truly in love with its people, feeling deeply the memories of its recent past, truly hoping for the happiness of the great and generous Russian people, to whom Western Europe has a enormous debt. This is a debt not only of culture (because of your writers, your composers, we all are a bit Russians!): it is also a debt of blood: the sacrifice of your people --both in Blood and in Soul !-- lead to so much of our post WW2 peace and prosperity. THE STAY IN SAINT PETERSBURG If there is a city that seduces you, that enters into your Soul... it is Saint Petersburg ('Piters' as you call it). During my stay of one month, I must have walked most streets, visited all parks, all its magnificent canals, lined with neclassic and baroque palaces. Not to speak of your monuments, museums, your bookshops,... In Saint Petersburg one lives immersed in a immensely complex matrix of history, of culture, of glory, of suffering and of love. I had a most interesting stay sharing everyday apartment life of two professional persons. I lived right in the very center of the city. As I left my apartment on Malaya Sadovaia I would pass by and greet the (statue) of the great Catherine, with Diderot, Pokemkin and others at her feet... IN SUMMARY Perfection! In ExtraClass, my Dear Friend Stans, you have achieved the rare combination of Language, Culture, and History, and personal warmth that will assure an unforgettable and valuable experience to anybody opened to it. Dear all, I want to thank you all for these fantastic four months I spent here. Not only I've learned a lot about Russian, about the country's culture, 'spy tricks', films, poetry, and of course... ways of spending nice evenings, but on top of that, I've met really great people among the staff and the students. I hope we'll keep in touch. I wish all the best for the future. You can count on me to come back!

It was a great experience. I was able to greatly improve my Russian and explore a beautiful new country at the same time. I loved that the teachers could always explain things in a way that everyone understood. My host mother was very nice and was a good cook. I hope that nothing about the program changes when I return next summer!

After I learned with Stas and Alla it will be impossible to learn with other teachers. Learning with them I made rapid progress in things I had been struggling with for years. It is true that there are no stupid students, but only bad teachers. With Stas and Alla I had probably the best teachers in the world and I'm very happy about that. Also outside the class they were very helpful. It was simply amazing!

Fantastic course - my only criticism is that one week is not enough! Next time, longer!

Great class and teacher. I learned a lot. Teacher explained the grammar really well and kept up lively conversations. I would love to go back.
