Orientation in Geneva
Your adventure begins in the world's smallest metropolis a cosmopolitan city with a small town feel. Located on Lake Geneva between the Alps and Jura mountains, Geneva is an
international city graced with majestic vistas. For three days, you and your group walk the streets of Old Town, explore some of the city's world-class museums, art galleries, and theaters, see the famous flower clock and Lake Geneva's jet d'eau and visit the United Nations.
Homestay
Spend two weeks with a French-speaking Swiss family in a town on the banks of Lake Geneva. Surrounded by snow-capped peaks, your new summer home provides easy access to swimming, boating, hikes around medieval chateaux, and a vibrant outdoor café culture.
Sample activities:
Picnic on the shores of Lake Geneva; visit a Swiss chocolate factory; hike through scenic gorges; play tennis with host siblings; venture across the French
border to visit alpine villages.

Travel and Alpine Adventure
Following your homestay, head for the mountains! You and your group discover why Switzerland is famous for its natural beauty and outdoor activities. Saas Fee, Zermatt, and the Rhone River Valley are the backdrop as you hike meandering nature trails, mountain bike along raging rivers, visit ancient castles, and stroll through picturesque villages to learn more about local traditions.
Sample activities:
Trek along the Allalin Glacier; bike through alpine valleys; hike through stunning forests with Swiss naturalists; cross over the Italian border high in the Alps; learn about ecological issues facing the alpine region.

The Experiment in International Living's mission is to create meaningful, dynamic experiences for students eager to challenge themselves and engage their sense of global citizenry. Our goal is to help young people peel back the superficial differences that exist in their backgrounds and find authentic commonalities among other program participants and the people of their host countries.
