Orientation in Madrid
Your adventure begins with an action packed, three-day orientation in Madrid. Put your Spanish to use as you order tapas in a local cafe, ask for directions to the Palacio Real, and explore the city's medieval streets. Visits to the Prado Museum on Madrid's museum mile, discussions in city parks, and exploration of diverse neighborhoods strengthen your understanding of contemporary Spanish life and culture. Your orientation concludes with a full-day excursion to historic Toledo.
Homestay, Language Training and Travel
After orientation, you and your group participate in fun and active, experiential language training at a school in Granada. Using music, theater, film, city scavenger hunts, and field trips, your grasp of spoken and written Spanish soars. From Granada, your immersion into Spanish life continues with a two-week homestay in a small Andalusian town. Visits to local markets and warm beaches, relaxing afternoons at local cafés, and activities with your host family give you a deeper insight into Spanish culture. Your exciting journey concludes with a week in the Pyrenees and exciting Barcelona.
