Description

Experience the culture and excitement of living in Turkey with a host family by signing up for our English Conversation Volunteers Abroad (ECVA) program. As an English Conversation Volunteer (ECV) you can go almost anywhere in Turkey and stay with a host family for 1, 2 or 3 months - you choose.

The family provides you a room and 3 meals a day while you provide casual English conversation practice for up to 15 hours each week - usually 3 hours per day. Your free time is yours to explore the culture and the sights of Turkey. No prior tutoring experience is necessary! Some U.S. Colleges and Universities allow credits for your teaching activities. Turkey allow you to conduct English conversation classes in language schools and you may be able to give private lessons.

Highlights

* No program fees! You only have to pay travel insurance, airfare, or passport/visa costs.
* Taking your preferences into account and using the host family criteria, we will match you with a local family.
* For a maximum of 15 hours per week, you will practice English conversation with your host family.
* The host family will provide you a room in their home and 3 meals daily.
* While many of our students prefer to travel during the summer, ECVA is a year-round program.

* Must be at least 20 years of age with a high school diploma
* English must be your native spoken language
* You must agree to respect family rules and local culture
