    Typical Volunteer

    Assistance to Children
This organizations gives love and comfort from 0 to 5 year old children who due to ill treatment, abuse or abandonment have been removed from their homes. These fundamental issues are essential for their physical, psychological and spiritual development until Justice determines if they can return with their parents or if they are given on adoption. At present this organization provides these children with a home with a feminine character that complies with the role of a foster mother, in a specially prepared place designed to cover all their needs.

    Community Development
This is an Argentinean ONG that is very active in the field of education, health, and fighting extreme poverty. The association organizes educational and cultural activities which are promoted by word of mouth and chains of friends and contacts in poor neighbourhoods. It brings support to children and teenagers for their early education, they have succeeded very often on bringing them back to school. Also there is a project to start with a home for the poor elderly of the area.

Health and Assistance for the Elderly
This 'Hogar' is a private geriatric home that is run by an amazing woman who has dedicated her life to caring and housing elderly and other disabled folks. Currently she is caring for 14 incredible, yet needy, people and only has a couple helpers who work to cook, clean and care for all the inhabitants. Many of these elders have been abandoned by their families and taken in by Irma, whether they can pay or not. Irma spends from her own pocket to provide food, supplies and medicine for those who do not have the ability to pay for such necessities. Because she is so low-staffed, she does not have the opportunity to spend much quality time with each patient individually.

    Combating HIV/AIDS
This is a well-known Argentinean organization active in the field of assistance of those who are victims of HIV /AIDS. Different projects and activities to take place all year round; most of them are headed to teenagers and young women from all social classes and they are carried out by volunteers. Some activities focuses in the most vulnerable groups (homosexuals, sex workers, injected drugs users, etc.) also assisting to others social organizations on preventing HIV/AIDS.

    Assistance to Disabled Children
This is a private, non-profit, Child Care Center aimed to help orphan, disadvantaged and disabled children living in Cordoba and the suburbs. With more than 40 years existence it is divided in 7 different buildings or so-called 'Casas', it has capacity for 300 children. They are assisted by a staff of more than 30 people including the director, administrative officers, social workers, physicians, neurologists, psychiatrists, psychologists, and volunteers for other remaining tasks. Anyway, the center lacks many things for the treatment of the children especially in the area of psychiatry and neurology.

These programs are held in Cordoba but there are many other Organizations and Foundations where you can participate and colaborate. Do not hesitate to contact us and find out more about our Volunteer Programs in Argentina.
