Highlights

Known as the "city of the thousand minarets", Cairo is located along the longest river on earth, the Nile. In the noisy streets of Egypt's capital, an amalgam of car horns fuses with the Muezzin call for prayer. Cairo, the Arab world's cultural centre with over 15 million inhabitants, has an incredible number of historical sites: mausoleums, citadels, forts and other monuments within the city, and a few miles away, the Gizeh site, the Sphinx, and the majestic Pyramids, one of the seven wonders of the world.

Our partner school is located in El Sahafeyeen, a quiet central residential neighbourhood in the west of Cairo. As well as language classrooms, you will find a computer school, an international book store, a restaurant, a student social room and a pedagogic library. The school was established in 1977, and is affiliated to International House, an organization of worldwide quality language schools. It distinguishes itself from other Arab-world language education programmes by combining a contemporary methodological approach (everyday and media Arabic) with classical language teaching (literary and Coranic Arabic).This combination allows you to study the functional elements of the language as well as learning about its origins.
