Hostal Metropol is Equity Point’s hostel in Madrid. In a privileged location, like the others hostels in the group, Metropol is located in the centre of the city. This typical hostel is less than 5 minutes walk from the most important stores, bars and architectural highlights of Madrid.

How to discover Madrid from Metropol Hostel

The Line 1 (blue) Metro stop Gran Via leaves you right outside the hostel. The intersection of calles Montera and Gran Via is a perfect starting point for visiting the historical centre of Madrid by foot.

Inside the hostel

The reception desk of Metropol hostel is on the first floor, along with the hostel bar, which offers great views over the street and is the nerve centre of the hostel. Here you can soak up the spirit of Madrid. The large, wood-panelled bar is a warm and perfect spot for having a beer with friends, hooking up to the internet or planning a route around Madrid.
The hostel has 180 beds in 65 rooms. This traditional, unpretentious hostel is very functional and offers privacity for its guests.

Persons under the age of 18 years are only allowed to stay in private rooms or dormitory rooms that are booked for use of one family or group of persons, and can not share dormitory rooms with other guests. People under 18 years old must travel with their parents or legal tutor.

Location

The Equity Point-Metropol Hostel is placed in the cross section between Gran Via street and Montera street, just next to the Gran Via metro station. Using the metro is probably the best and faster way to go to the hostel. Please find enclosed the best way to go to the hostel from the main train stations of Madrid and Barajas Airport.

From Barajas Airport

From terminals T1-T2-T3, take the metro L8 to Nuevos Ministerios stop, then change to line L10 to Tribunal and finally change to line L1 to Gran Via. From the new terminal T4,take the bus in front of the terminal to the other terminals and then follow the instructions of T1-T2-T3. Using the metro to go to the airport could take 45minutes aprox, take 1 hour to be sure you don’t loose your flight.

The taxi service from the airport is fast except in the morning when traffic jam can make it difficult, the cost is around EUR 25-30 and it takes arount 20-30 minutes.

From Atocha Train station
Take metro L1 to Gran via. It take between 15-20 minutes maximum.

From Chamartin train station
Take metro line L10 to Tribunal and then change to line L1 to Gran Via. It takes around 25-30 minutes.

From Mendez Alvaro bus station

From here you can go to Toledo, Sevilla, Granada… For goint to Mendez Alvaro station take metro in Gran Via L1 to Pacifico and then change to L6 to Mendez Alvaro.

From Avenida de America bus station
Take L9 to Nuñez Balboa and then change to line L5 to Gran Via. It takes around 30 minutes to get to the hostel. Bus arriving from Barcelona stops here.
