About Elective Africa

Founded in 2000, Elective Africa is a leading organizer of volunteer, educational and expedition trips to Africa. For over 10 years, we have been working with a wide variety of communities and institutions in our program destinations to provide participants with a unique opportunity for (i) hands-on experience and learning, (ii) volunteering to assist people and communities in need, and (iii) cultural immersion and exchange, and of course (iv) some fun and escape from routine!

Our programs cover a wide range of areas such as medical electives and volunteering, community development, gap trips, learning trips and expeditions, school trips, safaris and tours, and mountain treks. Learning trips cover areas such as medicine, music and arts, education and teaching, languages, among others.

Regardless of the program, all our programs ensure an immense amount of hands on experience and meaningful project work, cultural immersion and fun.
