Study Spanish and explore the culture and wildlife of Ecuador at one of the best schools in the country – the EF Centro Internacional de Español in Quito. The EF school is one of few Spanish schools in Ecuador approved as an official DELE exam center by the prestigious Instituto Cervantes. Combining the best teaching and the widest choice of free time excursions, EF Quito is a great base from where to explore the natural wonders and sights of Ecuador.
EF’s school is housed in a villa with a private garden in the modern part of Quito, with many cafes and restaurants nearby, as well as the green expanse of La Carolina Park. EF also runs an English school for local students in the same building, so it’s a great place to get to know locals.
EF offers courses for students of all levels, from beginner to advanced, for adults and students aged 16 and above. Courses start every Monday and you can stay as long as you’d like, from one or two weeks up to a whole academic year. U.S. students can receive college credit for courses of 4 weeks and longer.
Personalize your program by choosing the intensity of your Spanish course and adding special interest classes like Latin music or indigenous culture. At EF you can also prepare for the official DELE Spanish exam or combine your studies with volunteer work in a social/educational field or in environmental protection.
You can choose to stay in one of EF’s student residences, alongside students from all over the world, or with a local host family.
You'll also expand your knowledge of the local customs through our EF staff, natives of Ecuador who enjoy sharing their culture. In the afternoon it’s easy to visit the beautiful historic center with its cobbled streets and historic buildings, the best preserved in all of Latin America. EF also arranges trips to all the beautiful regions of Ecuador, including the Andes Mountains, the Amazon Rainforest and the Galapagos Islands, to make sure you get to experience the country’s diverse landscapes.
