The Spanish Language Program for High School Students in CEELE-accredited Schools are organized by Eduespana and sponsored by the Education Office of the Embassy of Spain in Washington, D.C.
The goals of the Spanish Language Program is to help U.S. high school students aged 15-19 improve their Spanish language skills and their knowledge of Spanish literature, respectively, in preparation for the exams. Canadian students of the same age, at an intermediate or advanced level of Spanish, are also welcome to participate.
The program consists of 60 class hours over three weeks. Class size is limited to 12 students. Students practice taking AP exams. Active class participation is encouraged, so that all students can improve their oral communication skills.
The Spanish Language Program for High School Students will take place June 10-30 2012 and July 1-21-2012. Each course consists of sixty class hours over three weeks. Classes are complemented by at least six extracurricular activities and two day trips. Full room and board with a Spanish host family is included.
Each participating student will receive a partial scholarship from the Embassy of Spain. Teacher chaperons will share in this cultural and educational adventure, receiving free room and board and participating in the students' extracurricular activities and day trips as they like.
