We offer volunteer placements in teaching posts, advisory roles, empowerment positions, development opportunities, and building projects.
It is very important, when making the decision to serve in a developing country, that volunteers understand that they are a link in a long chain of people dedicated to work against poverty and discrimination. It takes a concerted effort over years to make a difference in one community but a volunteer placement is one step towards progress.
One person can't support a community alone. But with a long-term investment in global action, Edge of Seven strives to strengthen communities over time.
Edge of Seven believes that with flexibility and a positive attitude, anything is possible! We look to match volunteers with local organizations that are searching for their skill set so that everyone is set up for success. Each organization is looking for something different; some look for teachers, some look for experts, and all are looking for passionate, hard working, and dedicated team players. Since projects vary from month to month and volunteer to volunteer, we would like volunteers to think about their area of interest and background rather than focusing on a particular project description.
starts at USD 2,500
The program fee includes roundtrip travel to/from the U.S., housing, food and transportation during the volunteer placement. It does not include travel insurance (required), vaccines, or passport/visa services.

A typical volunteer with Edge of Seven believes in the power of change. Change is giving students in an unnoticed rural village the opportunity for a basic education and therefore, opportunity. Change is providing street children with a safe haven and teaching them vocational skills to become contributing members of their own society. Change is counseling migrant adults through their given human rights and how to defend themselves again those who challenge those civil liberties. But more importantly, change is bringing that awareness home so that we can all become more responsible global citizens.

To create a movement. We generate awareness and volunteer support for projects that invest in education, health, and economic opportunity for girls in developing countries. We empower girls by supporting initiatives that are locally driven, community focused, and sustainable. It is our goal to make a measurable difference in the villages that we serve with a chain of dedicated volunteers and investment over time.
