EcoSwell is a sustainable development nonprofit organization driving the development of poor communities in Peru through a path of sustainability, enhancing the quality of life of their inhabitants. We develop social, economic, educational, infrastructure, and environmental productivity projects, working hand-in-hand with the local community and with international volunteers or interns. We take a shared value approach, working with the private, public, and academic sectors, and other non-government organizations, to come up with relevant and lasting sustainable solutions. Our approach toward sustainability consists of three pillars – nature conservation, social justice, and economic well-being. We are currently operating in the northern coastal town of Lobitos, a surfing hotspot which has seen an increase in uncontrolled tourism over the last 15 years.
