Description

Eco Volunteer UP offers a unique internship both to students and other participants. This experience will be an important part of your self-development and at the same time all your support will help in the environmental conservation and in the sustainable development of San Cristobal Island, Galapagos.

In the internship you will work in all areas and coordinate the projects that the farm has with the community, as well as volunteer programs and the farm's office. The farm has agreement with some travel agencies and eco-hotels that work with community tourism and ecotourism and participants will rotate on those places as well. You need creativity and initiative to help people.

Your work will be:

- To reward the community members for taking part in the farm project.
- To improve the community activities and the environment.
- To organize the eco tourist activities that the farm does.
- To supervise the volunteers work with the community.
- To teach English or provide feedback to improve the tourist sites.
- To contact the travel agencies with which the farm has agreement, to value the work opportunities and the innovation of eco tourist activities in the community.

Qualifications

- To have knowledge of Spanish language (intermediate level)
- To Stay for a minimum of one month , maximum three months
- To have a degree in Ecotourism and sustainable development or to have completed at least the first year of University studies.
- The internship is available from May to December.
- We will accept 10 people maximum for the internship each month.

Program Fees Include:

The cost includes: Pick up airport in Quito, transfer from the Galapagos airport to the project, accommodation in the farm house (2 people per room, hot water). The accommodation has everything normally expected in a house, a family from the area who lives in the farm will attend and help you in anything that you need. The volunteers need to buy their groceries and cook for themselves in the kitchen where you have all the facilities to cook.

We are a non-profit organization which is legally recognized by the Ecuadorian Government. Volunteers with Eco Volunteer UP have the choice of many worthy programs, such as vulnerable orphanages, institutes for children with disabilities, street children and local indigenous communities. There are volunteer programs located in and around Quito, the capital of Ecuador, as well as programs located in the Cloud Forest and its communities close to Quito, the Ecuadorian Amazon, the Galapagos Islands and other key places around Ecuador. We offer volunteers real immersion in the various Ecuadorian ecosystems, and the unique opportunity for learning and sharing about Ecuadorian cultures, costumes and traditions.
