Disability Support Volunteer (female) Palestine: Job Description
Echlas, a female artist and Arabic teacher (fluent in English and Arabic), living with muscular dystrophy is seeking a female disability support volunteer. The volunteer will have the unique opportunity to live in a refugee camp in Bethlehem, the West Bank.

* Job start date: preferable October 1st 2013 (this date is open)
* Duration: 6 months or longer
Responsibilities:
- Assistance with personal care including bathing, bedpan, washing, oral hygiene, hair care, dressing and undressing.
- Assistance with health related activities including taking medication and attending medical appointments (such as physiotherapy).
- Assistance with getting into and out of a wheel chair and bed.
- Assistance with cooking meals and preparing beverages.
- Assistance during the night if necessary (the volunteer will sleep in the same room).
- Assistance so Echlas may manage some tasks independently despite the disability: including preparing for her Arabic lesions, checking emails, and undertaking her artwork including painting.
The volunteer will be offered the following:
- Free accommodation and board
- All meals provided
- An allowance of USD 200 per month
- 2 Arabic lessons per week
- The chance to learn first-hand about Palestinian culture and life.

Highlights
