  • Description

This six-week, two-course program in Istanbul is based at the prestigious Bogazici University. Istanbul is an incredibly rich city in its multi-cultural history, arts, and contemporary life. Students have the opportunity to explore the city and other regions of Turkey.

Two courses will be offered as part of the 2012 summer program: "Gender, Politics, and Space in the Middle East", taught by University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill Professor Gökar1ksel, and "Between Europe and Asia: The Geopolitics of Istanbul from Occupation to Globalization", taught by Duke Professor Göknar.

  • Highlights

Coursework is complemented by cultural activities, including visits to museums, mosques, public monuments, and archaeological sites.
