Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School Singapore or Duke-NUS is a collaboration between Duke University and the National University of Singapore. Its beginnings can be traced back to 2000, with the launch of the Biomedical Sciences Initiative to attract health manufacturing and research sectors to Singapore. But it was in 2005 when Duke-NUS was formally established in the country when the two universities signed an agreement.
We accepted our first MD students in 2007, producing our first class of graduates in 2011. Since then, we have produced more than 200 graduates with a Doctor of Medicine degree. Our curriculum is patterned after the Duke University School of Medicine’s own curriculum. The programs are Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) - IBM, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) - IBB, Pre-Medical Module, Clinical Performance Center, MD-PhD, and Educational Research. We use an extensive team-based method: TeamLEAD, which standards for Learn, Engage, Apply, and Develop.
