Are you passionate about life skills for young people? An amazing learning enviroment? Some fun and an opportunity to make life-long, genuine friendships?
Discovery for Teens is the place to come!!
You are volunteering for a Team Leader position. You, and a Team Leader buddy, will be in charge of supporting 8-12 teenagers through a motivational, life and academic skills workshop. You will be expected to have FUN! Join in the games! And you might even learn something :)
The Discovery programme is a positive, high-energy, challenging, experiential programme packed with fun! The programme is focused on developing essential life and academic skills that will help teens to fulfil their potential and to develop into the young leaders of today and tomorrow.
Discovery uses state-of-the-art accelerated learning methods, integrated-brain teaching, co-operative learning and neurolinguistics (NLP). This combination produces very rapid learning, ease of absorption and lasting results.
Valuing diversity and empathy are also key components of the programme; participating teens come from backgrounds and situations across the spectrum and have the opportunity to build trust and learn a lot from each other.
Plus, did we mention it's loads of FUN?!!
Volunteering as a Team Leader on the Discovery for Teens workshop is a fantastic opportunity for a short stay volunteer. The commitment is only 10 days and whilst volunteering, your accommodation and food are covered. You don't need any specific qualifications to volunteer, just a willingness to be a great role model and share you life experiences, a passion for seeing young people succeed and be who you are. A clean police record is a must. Previous Team Leaders have described the experience as one of the most powerful learning environments in action.
