The Global Economics program is designed for students in economics, business, and international relations. The program deals with one of the most far-reaching processes in human history, that of globalization. You will have the opportunity to make your own personal investment in an African entrepreneur, gain competitive edge by understanding how comparative advantage drives development, and understand how globalization affects distribution and wealth among the nations and peoples on earth. Through the programs core course, Economic Theories of Globalization, students will get insight on how globalization is reshaping the world, creating winners and losers, as well as understand the forces behind globalization through theories of international trade, capital markets, and economic development.
Students in this program will participate in two course-integrated study tours. A short study tour within Denmark and a longer European study tour to Brussels (Brussels being home to the majority of EU institutions) and Paris. Together, the course and the study tours will give students a toolbox of analytical frameworks and economic theories of international trade; will significantly increase their understanding of the international institutions and organizations which regulate trade and economic activity; and their ability to apply theories to analyze the main features of globalization using real world examples.
