  • Description

    The Pre-Architecture program is an awesome opportunity for students enrolled in non-studio based architecture programs or liberal arts fields such as art history or studio art to develop their 3-D design skills. Students with limited spatial design experience can further their design skills in a different cultural context.

    Pre-Architecture students can choose from the following studios:
    * Architecture Foundations Studio
    * Interior Architecture Foundations Studio
    * Urban Design Foundations Studio

    Studios are the backbone of all Architecture & Design tracks at DIS.
    Students must have a documented background in fine arts or studio art, or completion of a course in drawing.

  • Highlights

    All Pre-Architecture students will participate in joint program study tours (with students in the Architecture & Design Program). Study tours include a short study tour to Denmark, and a longer European Study tour to either Germany-Netherlands, or Sweden-Finland (students get to choose).

    Study tours, which are covered by tuition, form an integral part of the core course. They introduce students to outstanding examples of historical, modern, and contemporary architecture, interior architecture, restoration projects, recreational and cultural areas, and urban planning.
