BGU's MAPMES program is great! I highly recommend it. Here are some things to consider: -Beer Sheva, while not considered a fun or nice city by most Israelis, it's very Israeli and student-friendly. Easy to get around, sunny weather all year-round, cheap, and lots of fun bars. -I loved the classes and professors. While there isn't a HUGE selection (there are about 5-7 classes offered each semester for MAPMES students and you have to take 3-4 per semester), the subjects were varied as were professors' opinions and teaching styles. -Modern Standard Arabic (Fusha) is taught. That's great. -Beautiful campus with cool river running through it. -Aroma cafe on campus. -Easy to bike all over city and campus. -Other students are from varied backgrounds--a good percentage of internationals. -Very easy to form personal relationships with professors, as classes are small, avg 15. Mini-courses are even smaller and more intensive, meeting 3 times a week, with max 8 students.
