Our scenic, wooded campus is a short walk from downtown Elkins, part of our lively, arts-oriented community of 10,000 in West Virginia's Potomac Highlands. Within the town are three National Register Historic Districts and a variety of shops, restaurants and pubs. Just minutes away is the Monongahela National Forest -- almost a million acres of natural playground. Elkins is close to whitewater rafting, mountain biking, rock climbing and several popular ski resorts, including Snowshoe Mountain and Canaan Valley.
Nestled in the mountains of West Virginia, Davis & Elkins is a small liberal arts college with a big reputation.
Our students thrive on a caring combination of personal attention, academic challenge, and real-life experience. We believe in them and expect them to succeed. And they do.
Related to the Presbyterian Church (USA), we are located in Elkins, 2 hours east of Charleston, 3 hours south of Pittsburgh and 4 hours west of Washington, DC. It's some of the most scenic country in the eastern U.S. - accented with a vibrant arts scene and great tourism destinations.
We are fondly known as "D&E," and our teams are the Senators, named for our founders, Senator Davis and Senator Elkins.
