Guaranteed Internship Offer Prior to Departure
Cultural Embrace by API guarantees an internship placement working in your preferred field at a private company or a Brazilian University. Many positions include monetary or food stipends. Stipends often cover the cost of the university class required to qualify for a student visa.
Cultural Embrace by API includes a private room with a carefully selected and pre-screened host family. Breakfast is prepared for you each morning. (*Please note a surcharge may be added during the summer, Carnival, and World Cup months as these times become more expensive for the local families.)
Airport pickup and transfer to your accommodation and an introduction to your host company.
Medical, Life, and Travel Insurance
Medical and life insurance is provided for all participants during the program term. This insurance coverage includes medical evacuation and repatriation, as well as 24-hour support services for medical and travel issues.
Cultural Embrace by API “Culture Kit”
Before your departure, we send you a packet filled with useful tips, advice, and information to prepare you for the amazing adventure of living and working abroad.
Cultural Activities & Excursions
Enjoy occasional social, cultural activities and excursions with locals and other interns. Some excursions may require additional transportation and entrance fees.
All interns travel on a tourist or a Temporary Visa (Item IV or V) to Brazil. In order to qualify for this visa, participants are required to take at least one class at a university in the area where they are interning. The cost of this class is typically covered by pocket money that employers pay interns. If a participant is interning within a university, they will not need to take a class to qualify for this visa. Please contact the Brazlian Embassy or Consulate to check details, or ask your CE by API coordinator. Please note that any visa fees are the responsiblity of the applicant. And, while we want to assist you during the process, ultimately it is your responsibility to ensure that you have obtained the appropriate visa for your work experience. CE by API has no control over the visa process and cannot guarantee that your visa application will be accepted.
Please note once in Brazil, all foreign interns are obligated to visit the Federal Police Department within 30 days and register themselves. Your local representative will assist you and take you to the closest Federal Police department. You must bring two 3"x4" photos, the original visa, copy of all the used pages in the passport including your information page, and USD 120 cash.
Cultural Embrace by API provides English-speaking representation in the United States and Brazil prior to, during, and after your placement.
