Cerebral Palsy Assistant Internship

Location

Thailand: Chiang Mai

Description

Placement: Hope Home started as a Foster care home for children with disabilities. It was established in October 2007 by a missionary nurse from the UK who directs the home today. Hope Home accommodates seven residential children, with physical and intellectual disabilities. It is staffed by a Thai Manager and six full time caretakers from the local area.

The home provides shelter, nurture, hygiene items, clothing, shoes, meals, ongoing daily therapy, and education in order to promote the full development and potential for each child.

At Hope Home Foundation, volunteers will have the opportunity to work with a small group of children who have various physical and intellectual disabilities, including cerebral palsy and blindness. Volunteers are expected to assist in the daily care of the children, including feeding, playing, cleaning and bathing, and other tasks.

Hope Home welcomes volunteers who are general caregivers, and physical or occupational therapists.
