The days spent in a Zhangjiakou primary school of China were incredibly amazing! The children there were totally lovely with who you would always establish emotional bonding quickly even under language barrier. The teachers I worked with were friendly as well. It was a fresh experience to live in a small village where I lived with cattle, horses, donkeys & other farm animals and neighbours there do know each other like a really big family! The village is surrounded by mountains therefore we could go hiking at weekends.
Thank you so much for the wonderful experience. The host family and the project were both incredible. Working at the Child Discovery Centre was a life changing experience where i got to meet so many incredible people. Many were my age so I found it incredibly easy to get on well with them. I even cooked Kiderri sometimes (which usually ended in me crying from the onions and all the children laughing at me). The orphanage was incredible, always involving me in activities and teaching me so much about Kenyan culture and about the project itself. I don't think i could have asked for a better experience, it exceeded my expectations. So, i am so incredibly thankful to everyone for that.
I really love the people here so yes i'm doing great. I helped donating some books to a school. It was really fun and nice to see how happy you make these children. Also I've been to a goldmine so that was really great to see! Now i am back at my host family. I will miss them when I go to the village but I already made plans visiting them.
Cross Continental gave me a great experience abroad. They organized a perfect living arrangement for me with a sweet, welcoming family, who helped make the experience extra fun. I love my host family! They are really nice and they helped me learn Spanish. I really like Mexico, it's such a different culture from mine so it's a great experience for me. I've made some good friends at my workplace at the Asylo de Ancianos, where I taught an exercise class to the residents and read and talk to the elderly and disabled. They are all really nice and I made them really happy since they don't get many visitors. What I liked most about this organization is how they contacted me throughout my program to make sure everything was going well. I highly recommend you consider a volunteer trip with them, since it is very affordable and safe! Thank you Cross Continental!
Thank you for going above and beyond for our students. Your amazing customer service, flexibility, and timely responses were greatly appreciated!
I found my experience in China immensely rewarding. Living with a Chinese family, and interacting in their daily lives, exposed me to the culture in ways I could never hope to experience by travelling as your typical hotel tourist. I really got to know what life's like in a developing nation, and was constantly exposed to new customs and different ways of thinking. All in all, the trip really gave me perspective in life, and I would recommend this type of travel to anyone who wants to make a difference and experience life through another culture's eyes. Cross-Continental Solutions lived up to all my expectations. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and they made sure that the cultural transition went as smooth as possible. I will happily recommend this organization to my friends.
