Creare foundation organizes the third edition of the Summer International Programs in cultural economics led by Prof. Arjo Klamer that will take place at Amsterdam University College:
* Value of Culture: On the relationship between Economics, Culture and the Art
* The economics of museums and cultural heritage
The courses explore the tension between the world of economics and the world of the arts. The first one provides a wider perspective, whereas the second specializes on museums and cultural heritage.
They are open to students, city planners, politicians, teachers, business leaders, cultural managers and other workers in the cultural field.
The aim of the "Value of Culture" program is to connect theoretical and practical conversations. Participants will take part in debates on recent thought in cultural economics and cultural entrepreneurship, and learn from actual cases in the Netherlands and abroad.
The course on "The Economics of Museums and Cultural Heritage" provides the participants a fresh perspective on the world of museums and cultural heritage.
* As part of the process participants will learn by interacting with texts, teachers, and each other.
* Participants will be divided into small groups to complete a common project
* Participants will investigate their own creative talents to figure out how they can exploit those in their study or work.
* The program includes special sessions for professionals in which they will discuss their issues with experts in their fields of interest.

CREARE has the mission to advance the research and education in the economics of art and culture.
