CRCC Asia and Richmond University have partnered to create a unique Accredited Course and Internship Program that will be offered each fall and spring semester. This program is designed to provide students with insight into the Chinese business world, while simultaneously allowing them to learn about Chinese language and culture in a classroom environment. For their participation in the program, students will receive academic credit at their home university.

Over the past 4 years, Richmond and CRCC Asia have been working together to give students the opportunity to intern in China. With the mission to provide global education, their respective expertise offer the student the academic, cultural and business tools to succeed in this international community.

The accredited program will comprise of:

    * A two week long Chinese Culture and Language Course taught by Richmond University professors. Classes will be three hours long, held in the mornings. (Three credits)
    * An eight week long internship at a Chinese company in the industry of your choice. Additionally, three more hour-long classes on Chinese Culture and Language will be given during either of these weeks . (Six credits)

  • Highlights

China has the world's most exciting and dynamic business environment and CRCC Asia runs programs in China's two most important cities - you can intern or study in Beijing or Shanghai.

Why take an Internship or Language Program in China?

Over the past century China has endured much political, social and economic upheaval, and has emerged from this turbulence to become the world's fastest growing economic superpower. From the fall of the last imperial dynasty in 1911 to the economic 'opening up' in 1978, which sparked China's meteoric global rise, the country has become a subject of significant global interest and investment.

China has a permanent seat on the UN Security Council as one of its founding members in 1945, and was accepted into the World Trade Organization (WTO) in 2001. It is clear that China has taken its place as a major international power both economically and politically.

Each city has its own particular character:

    * Beijing, scattered with ancient monuments, has deep historical roots and is the seat of the Chinese Government and the Chinese Communist Party. Learn more about life as a Beijing intern.
    * Shanghai is China's most internationalized city with cutting edge architecture, and has become a global financial powerhouse. Learn more about life as a Shanghai intern.
    * Find out more about the benefits of Shanghai and Beijing, and which city might suit you best.

  • Qualifications

All applicants must have completed or be currently enrolled in a degree program and preferably be in their Junior year and have a 3.0 GPA. We are also looking for you to exhibit a strong academic record, and an interest in foreign travel and culture. Fluent English is essential; if you speak some Chinese and would like to practice your language skills we can find you a company where this is possible.

Typically our interns are outgoing, ambitious individuals who want to get ahead in their chosen careers. Interns should be keen to take on challenges and responsibilities, and should be able to use their initiative to work independently within their companies.
