Our Internship Program works with students who need social hours as a requirement to graduate, academic practicum, or to make a dissertation for graduation, and all others interested in academic research or hands-on internship work. Also, the Program includes professionals, researchers and individuals who are clearly focused or have specific areas of interest or expertise. The Internship Program (IP) at CRINI was formed in response to requests from both students who wanted academic credit and individuals who wanted institutional support for practical field experience in a Costa Rican setting. In agreement with the basic philosophy of the Institute, the goal of each internship is to benefit both the intern and the host community of the organization.
In the area of Social Work, Public Health and Medicine, Costa Rica Internship Institute (CRINI) has started a special program designed for students interest in having a hands on experience in this field. The Public Health Program offers opportunities working on the prevention of health issues, women's health, alternative medicine, gender oriented medicine, medicine and human rights, Holistic Medicine, and Physical Therapy...
Costa Rica is one of the most developed countries in Central America. It is well known for being a country of peace and democracy. It has never experienced extended wars, as in other Central American countries, and because of its geographic location is not prone to natural disasters. This has allowed the country to devote more resources to economic development and improving socio-economic conditions.
Costa Rica abolished its army in 1948. With no military spending, the government has been able to devote more resources to social programs such as health care, housing, and education, as well as infrastructure, such as potable water and sanitation systems.
