Description

Lend your skills as a volunteer in Barcelona, and work to change the lives of children and teens through a variety of projects and activities throughout the local communities. Volunteers work with children in all areas, including assisting with childhood literacy projects, leading life skills workshops, putting together youth career expos and working as a teacher's assistant. Volunteers may get involved in work with young people focusing on issues related to HIV/AIDS, sexuality and adolescence, combining soccer and basketball with life skills training, coaching sports at an underprivileged school, putting together workshops and talent shows with high school students, and assisting with the overall operations of youth development and sports programs.

The city offers everything from urban parks to bustling business sectors, to world-famous works of art and some of the most amazing architecture in the world! And there are as many fascinating museums and Medieval Gothic churches as there at top restaurants and clubs. Barcelona is alive with activity and lives up to its reputation as one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe.

Stepping outside the city limits there are countless areas to visit in the rest of the Catalonia region. Just a short distance away you can visit the monumental city of Giron - which has less tourist traffic than Barcelona, but offers just as much in the way of festivals, cultural activities and restaurants. Or why not visit Figueres and spend the day exploring the Theatre Museu Gala Salvador Dali or soak up the Mediterranean in Sitges and the Costa Daurada?
