There are a range of different areas to choose from where you can apply your specific set of skills to projects that are important to you. Areas of opportunity include education, conservation, health care, microfinance and community development and many more. With amazing artwork virtually everywhere you look, a rich cultural history and a nightlife that has a reputation as being one of the best in the world, Barcelona truly has something for everyone! The city offers everything from urban parks to bustling business sectors, to world-famous works of art and some of the most amazing architecture in the world! And there are as many fascinating museums and Medieval Gothic churches as there at top restaurants and clubs. Barcelona is alive with activity and lives up to its reputation as one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe.

Stepping outside the city limits there are countless areas to visit in the rest of the Catalonia region. Just a short distance away you can visit the monumental city of Giron - which has less tourist traffic than Barcelona, but offers just as much in the way of festivals, cultural activities and restaurants. Or why not visit Figueres and spend the day exploring the Theatre Museu Gala Salvador Dali or soak up the Mediterranean in Sitges and the Costa Daurada?

Qualifications

Connect-123 volunteer positions are tailor-made for students, graduates, and professionals in any field. Based on your specific interests and goals, we will find a unique opportunity where you can contribute your valuable skills. Spanish is not a requirement for all programs and supplemental Spanish lessons are offered to all program participants.
