An international school in Malaysia, outside of Kuala Lumpur is looking to appoint a Head of Academic to join their management team. The position will commence on 1st March 2012. The school offers the internationally recognised British Cambridge curriculum, University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), in both its Primary and Secondary Schools.

The Cambridge programme is designed to optimally support and enhance the educational experience. It is supported by state-of-the-art facilities such as science laboratories, and Information & Communications Technology networking facilities, that are constantly updated with the latest computer equipment and learning software.

Responsibilities:
* To be responsible to the Principal for the execution of the academic policies of the school
* Responsible preparing class time-tables and manpower planning for the teaching staff of the school
* Responsible for all academic matters of the school, interpreting the IGCSE syllabus and examinations, preparing exam schedules, implementation of internal and external exams.
* To oversee the development of all academic departments, and provide guidance to subject heads and teachers to ensure that proper procedures are followed in relation to all matters concerning academic administration and students.
* To advise all staff of resolutions and policies affecting the academic administration of the school and shall provide other information as may be necessary for the performance of the school's functions
Responsible for managing student discipline and welfare as per the regulations of the School.

Qualifications

Must have a minimum qualification of Bachelor's degree in Science or Mathematics field
Overall experience of 15 years in teaching upper secondary students and 5 years of school management experience as Deputy Principal
Must have experience in school disciplinary matters. Experience in IGCSE syllabus and Cambridge International Examinations (CIE)
