The Master's Degree in International Business is an English-language degree course which qualifies you for demanding positions and tasks at companies. You register main seminars on business topics in an international context each semester, whereby you penetrate and process the problems academically, by means of case studies and course work. You also acquire specialist knowledge in a core subject which you select. In the third semester, you have the opportunity to deepen your knowledge in two further elective subject. The modules of the degree course in the personal skills area and a further foreign language round off your expert qualification.You can apply the knowledge you have already gained in a domestic or foreign company in practise in an industrial placement lasting eight weeks between the second and the third semester, in a domestic or foreign company. You conclude your degree with the Masters' thesis during the fourth semester. Its topic is selected in consultation with the professor responsible. During this period, you can complete a facultative semester abroad or - possibly to prepare your Masters' thesis - in a company.
The CBS offers an International Business program that allows you to specialise in eight different areas. Cologne being an important town in Germany's tourism industry, as well as the home of many media companies and internationally active companies, we provide specialisation possibilities in six different directions, viz: "European Management", "East Asia Management", "East European Management", "Latin America Management", "Media Management", "Tourism Event Hospitality Management", "International Trade" and "Management Consulting".
We offer a MA in International Business, fully taught in English, with specialization options in "European Management", "East Asia Management", "East European Management", "Latin America Management", "Media Management", "Tourism Event Hospitality Management", "International Trade" and "Management Consulting". In addition to studying business, students are also required to study foreign languages (Spanish, French, Chinese, Japanese).
