  • Description

Many of the country's citizens are followers of the Catholic faith. Christmas is an immensely important holiday for the people of Haiti, yet this year, because of the circumstances the children currently live under, most of them will be unable to observe Christmas and the kids will be without the enjoyment that many children around the world receive on this special day. As a result, Colline Foundation will seek to bring the spirit of Christmas to children who wouldn't ordinarily experience the kind of Christmas that many of us have enjoyed growing up. There is a need in Haiti for those who can and those who are willing to help fill the void in the lives of the children that have lost the family that once supported and nurtured them. We seek to give children the care, attention, support and experiences that they are missing; the same experiences that we have cherished ourselves.

  • Highlights

From the volunteer program's inception, it became a successful program that brought people from around the world into Haiti to volunteer. After the earthquake in Haiti, good-hearted individuals wanted to help in any way they could. Colline Foundation was one of the first organizations to allow an ordinary citizen to come to Haiti and do extraordinary work. Through our program, accountants became medical personnel, students became summer camp leaders and everyone learned to be a leader in their own right. Strong bonds were forged between people who labored alongside each other. Volunteers left with a life enriching experience and an understanding that service to others can sometimes be just as good for the people receiving the help as it is for the person giving it. We invite you to come to Haiti with us and experience the fulfillment our volunteers did, have the fun that they did and at the same time, touch the lives of children that have lost almost everything after the earthquake. We invite you to be a camp leader at our 2011 Summer Camp at Colline Academie.
