Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara provides students with the opportunity to increase their Spanish language skills in a culturally rich environment. UAG offers a versatile academic program suitable for beginning through advanced language speakers. Students have the opportunity to take language classes taught at the Centro Internacional de Idiomas, direct enrollment courses with regularly enrolled Mexican students, or a combination of the two. Direct enrollment courses are available in a variety of disciplines. Students may elect to study for a full academic semester, or take a single 4-week language cycle or consecutive cycles as desired. Advanced students have the option of direct enrollment. Direct enrollment courses are available in the Colleges of Humanities and Social Sciences, Sciences and Technology, and Health Sciences.
Founded in 1935, the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara is the oldest private university in Mexico. UAG has six campuses in and around Guadalajara and currently enrolls over 20,000 students. Program participants take classes on the main university campus, which is located in a park-like setting on the outskirts of the city. There is easy access to public transportation in Guadalajara, allowing participants to enjoy the wonderful colonial architecture of one of Mexico's oldest cities.

The College Consortium for International Studies, a partnership of colleges and universities -- two and four year, large and small, public and private, domestic and foreign -- encompasses the broad spectrum of international higher education. CCIS members sponsor a variety of programs, notably study abroad programs and professional development seminars for faculty and administrators, which are designed to enhance international/intercultural perspectives within the academic community. Recognizing the value of such experiences in fostering global understanding and peaceful cooperation among nations in an increasingly interdependent and rapidly changing world, CCIS is committed to developing international dimensions as an integral part of collegiate education. CCIS works to build collaborative arrangements among institutions who share this commitment, and to facilitate linkages between member institutions and international partners. In all of its programs and activities, CCIS strives for a high level of academic excellence.
